Blog Post 4

An important theme I've "learned" finishing the book Bounce is that you should never take your family for granted. Even though Evyn was very young when her mother died and she never really knew her it shows that if she was older that she wouldn't ever be able to share memories with her again or share a laugh with her, etc. So I know never to take my family for granted because if I lost them I wouldn't have had as many great memories I could have had. Also your family/plans could change in a flash of a second so you don't want to take what you already have for granted because it could all change quickly without even a warning.

Bounce: My favorite character

My favorite character from my book club book, Bounce, is Al ("Birdie"). He is my favorite character of the whole book because he is very outgoing and always knows how to keep a positive attitude no matter what. He stands out to me from anyone else in the book because hes a very strong person and a wonderful father. Yah Evyn, his daughter, is very mad at him because he remarried but he did it for himself to be happy. He tried his best to keep Evyn happy long enough but he had to do what was best for himself and his family. But he just really stands out for all his curiosty to his family/friends and his thoughtful heart. For example Evyn was just so furious with him but when he saw her everyday be put a big smile on to try to get her adjusted and actually happy for once. He is trying his best

Top Favorite Character

My favorite character out of all the books I’ve read is, John Smith, from the books, I am number four, The Power of Six, and the Rise of Nine. He is my favorite character out of all the books I have read because of his bravery and his loving/caring heart towards others. He is very brave because he stood up to all the mogadorians, which are these huge scary beasts trying to murder him, to save him and his kind that he is yet to meet. Lastly, he is very loving towards his family and friends by standing up for them and always being there for him. Plus he puts the people he cares about before his own safety.

First Blog Post

  • My favorite series is… I am number four, The Power of Six, and The Rise of Nine. I am in love with this series because it is a full force book filled with many characters, mystery, action, mixed in with romance, family “connections,” new friends, fear, and so much more! I would definitely recommend this book to about anyone because it has everything put together. It was definitely three books I could not put down.
  • I really like to read books with a swirl of romance in them, so usually I like to pick up a good realistic-fiction book. But sometimes I get the taste for something different like mystery and fantasy. I don’t really like history books all that much though.
  • I am currently reading After Ever After by Jordan Sonnenblick. But I just started this book after I finished the book that comes before it; Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick. The first book is about Steven’s life. He’s a normal 8th grader that has to deal with all the usual 8th grade problems, until one day… His little brother, Jeffrey, is diagnosed with the disease, Leukemia. Steven then has to change HIS life and adjust HIS schedules for HIS little brother. His dad is mellow about it, doesn’t know how to take it so he “ignores” his oldest son that is slowly becoming mentally drained. Is the mother better? No. She is constantly worrying about only Jeffrey and not realizing how much its hurter her older son. Probably hurting him more than anyone. Steven then finally adjusts his life, at least better than it was. He gets a tutor, gets his grades up, gets his social life up, etc. One day he goes to the hospital to comfort his little brother and meets this wonderful girl, Samantha who also has the disease, Leukemia. They become instant friends and will always have a special bond even though in the end Steven finds out she passes away forever and always.
